Easy Distress Oxide Night Sky

Hello and welcome to the second day of our MFT December Release Countdown. Only four more days until the release.

  • When I saw the sentiments in this adorable set, I knew I wanted to make a card that says "take care of yourself". As I am focusing on getting enough sleep myself, I picked the sleeping sloth as my focal point. How adorable is this cutie pie, right?!

  • stamp the sloth and some stars with alcohol marker friendly ink
  • stamp some more stars on alcohol paper
  • stamp the sloth and the stars one more time but now onto masking paper
  • cut out the images from the masking paper and stick them onto your stamped images on the card panel
  • use your ink blending tools and Distress Oxide Inks to create an ink blended nigh sky. I started dark at the top and got lighter but there are many other options of course
  • after the ink blending was done, I spritzed some water drops onto my panel and dried them with a paper towel
  • remove the masking paper from the stamped images and color them with alcohol markers
  • color the three additional starts on your scrap piece of paper and cut them out
  • add details with colored pencils, like I did with the fur
  • die cut a frame and adhere it with foam tape, I did not center my frame on purpose just for the fun of it ;-)
  • stamp the greeting

  • I just couldn't decide which color to choose for his pajamas, so I only added some gray shadows. I like it how it is and I can keep it this way or still add some color later if I want to :-) Sometimes, what looks unfinished is already good enough or does not have to be done right now. At least that is what I realized for myself.
