Warm Wishes * MFT Vault Release

Hello, I'm so happy your here. Today is release day at My Favorite Things for the October Vault. We're re-releasing products that were well loved but discontinued for quite some time. Now, they are having a comeback and we're very excited about that!

 Idea:
  • I wanted to use the girl from the Warmest Wishes set, which is a winter set, for a fall scene and combine it with the beautiful Modern Trees. I haven't used the watercolor stamping technique for quite some time and thought, this would go well with the fall scene I had in mind.

 Instructions:
  • stamp the girl with water resistant ink onto watercolor paper
  • ink up the tree trunks with brown dye ink, spritz the inky stamps with water using a water mister and stamp them on your panel
  • repeat this step for the fall leaves on the trees using yellow and orange dye inks
  • use watercolors to paint a soft background, I actually used my dye inks and mixed them with water for this project
  • let the background dry
  • color the girl with watercolors or - like I did - using watercolor markers
  • paint some shadows below her feet and at the bottom of every tree trunk
  • add darker colors to the front and get lighter to the back
  • let everything dry
  • stamp your sentiment with a crisp black ink

 Tip:
  • Watercolor stamping is a fun way to use solid stamps. You'll get a new look for your projects and more out of your stamps.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a cozy day,
Nicole
