Present Time * MFT Countdown (5)

Hello and welcome to the first day of our MFT September Release Countdown. Only five more days until the release! It's getting festive in September to make sure you all have enough time and loads of inspiration for your Christmas card making.

Outside the Box is a super fun new die set that gives your card making that extra wow! Usually, I'm a little intimidated by interactive cards or special card layouts but this one is so easy to put together AND most of all so fun to do. All the die cut pieces have dry embossed lines that tell you where to fold the paper. A little glue or double-sided adhesive tape and you're almost done. Decorating the box is such a fun thing to do and yes, you can fold and send this! So cool, right?!

But now from start to finish ;-) I die cut two panels for the box and four Snow Drifts pieces from an additional die set, all from white card stock. I folded the pieces where the dry embossed lines are and added double-sided adhesive tape to all the flaps. I assembled the box and added the snow drifts. I'm sure there will be a fun YouTube tutorial on this soon. I will add it here.

After the box was assembled, I stamped, colored and die cut the images. I used my Graph'it Markers, Memento Tuxedo Black ink and alcohol marker friendly paper. I love love love picking fun color combos for my projects. This time I went for a bright yellow, a warm purple, light blue and green for the tress. I also stamped three snowflakes and the word sending in light blue and die cut them.
After all the stamped images were done, I die cut two rectangles from patterned paper for the sides of my box and a large yellow joy from the Sending Christmas Joy die. Next, I die cut three clear stripes from a plastic sheet to help the snowflakes fly in the air. Now, all that was left to do was glueing everything in place. I added a little glitter using Stickles and my box card was done.

I hope you got inspired and curious on what the other DT members created. Hop over to the MFT Blog to see more inspiration and new goodies that will be available soon!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a happy day,
Nicole

  4. Cute card. Yellow is so unexpected, but it shouldn't be because it's another color of winter. :)
