Hi there and welcome to the second day of our September Card Kit inspiration countdown. Only one more day until the release. Wohoo!
This set comes with such a fun color scheme. I really like the happy colors instead of the traditional red and green. I think they went very well with the warm light gray background.
As you can see, there was quite a bit of die cutting and just a little bit of stamping involved in this process. Frist, I did all the die cutting, then, I glued the light bulbs together and moved the pieces around until I liked the layout. I went for a visual triangle which is a favorite style element of mine, it is easy to achieve and very pleasing to the eye. I made sure there was enough space left for my sentiment.
First, I wanted the light bulbs to be on a pain white card base but the card looked a bit unfinished to me, so I grabbed my pretty Buffalo Plaid background stamp and created this soft gray background. It is the same shade of gray I had used on the cords.
I glued all the pieces in place and decided to do a little more die cutting. I added the Holly Berries on the top of my card. I also added a lot of clear sparkly sequins for some bling. Now, all that was left to do was stamping the sentiment.
We have much more inspiration to share with you on the MFT Blog! Check out all the wonderful creations by my fellow DT members.
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a happy day,
Nicole
