How Are You * MFT Color Challenge 149

Hello and welcome to a new Color Challenge by My Favorite Things.

After sharing the brand new Christmas themed September release, I wanted to share something completely different. :-) I picked the beautiful Fall Florals stamp set and got inspired by the newest color challenge.

I started by picking dye ink pads that matched the color combo from the challenge. MFT inks (and card stock) match perfectly with the colors (the names are the same) but you do not have to own them to play along. Just get inspired by the colors. I knew, I wanted two greens, so I picked a lighter an da darker one.

Next, I did some stamping. I love solid stamping, I really should use my pretty and colorful inks more often. I especially enjoy layering them. As you see here, I just used two shades of green and two shades of coral red and you get so much depth on your project. I started stamping the light green leaves and added the darker afterwards. Then, I stamped the coral flowers and added the Tangy Orange for some details.

I die cut my floral panel and stamped the greeting. Then, I glued it to some Natural card stock. This is how I had planned the card and it was ok but I wanted to add just a little something-something to is. So I went through my stash, actually looking for a bee or a butterfly but couldn't find one. What I did find were these adorable chicks/birdies and I loved them so much, I put them on my card. You could now argue that the scale is incorrect but I don't care, this could be a fantasy/fairytale garden and we do have some creative freedom, right?! ;-)

I stamped the chicks on alcohol marker friendly ink and colored them with Graph'it markers. I cut them out and added them to my project using foam tape. I hope you got inspired to so some layered stamping or shop your stash for some happy little cuties to add that finishing touch to your project. :-)

Now it is your turn. Join the fun and hop over to the MFT Blog for more information and inspiration!
