Hi there, today I have a happy rainbow card for you.
I'm thrilled to be a Guest Designer for Reverse Confetti and share some of their wonderful products with you. The Over the Rainbow die set totally was a must-have for me. This is such a fun set which not only can be used for rainbow skies (like on this card) but you can also use it to complete your scenes with adorable critters and more.
My next step was creating the background. I wanted something soft and easy, so I went for a simple watercolor wash. I "painted" a loose oval shape on watercolor paper, using a clean water brush, just using water, so the ink would later stay in this area and I would have a clean white border around the sky. Now, I added blue watercolor to the wet area with a paint brush and tried to create an ombré look (lighter at the top and darker at the bottom). Then, I dried the background with a heating tool and added some splatters of watercolor after the drying process.
Now, all that was left to do was glueing everything in place. I started with the rainbow and glued down piece by piece. Then, I added the clouds and the sun using foam tape. I stamped the sentiment in black and added some Icy Sparkle Crystals (by Studio Katia) as raindrops.
I had some leftover pieces from my die cutting for the card, so I used them to make a shaker tag as well. I did some more die cutting (sun and cloud) to complete my little sky. I also die cut the beautiful Scallop Window Tag twice, once with and once without the window part. It was super easy to make a shaker tag with this die set. I simply had to add some acetate for the window, foam tape at the back for some dimension and beads for the rainy shaker part. This would make a great tag to go along with the card and a happy colorful gift. For both creations I used the fun and versatile This Says It All stamp set.
I hope you got inspired to create something happy and colorful today. Find more inspiration on the Reverse Confetti Blog, the Designers have some awesome creations to share with you.

Nicole
