Hello, Bootiful * MFT Countdown (4)

Hello and welcome to the second day of our MFT August Release Countdown. Only four more days until the release. Woohoo!

My son (he's six) does not like scary things and we do not celebrate Halloween here but when he saw these cute ghosts, he said: "I could be friends with them". His imagination is just wonderful and I must agree, they are super cute and not scary at all.

If this card looks super clean and simple to you, you're totally right. It is! I mean, there's not much to color here and the background is very easy to make but I really like how it turned out and cards don't always have to be super intricate.

I started by stamping the ghosts and the bats. As I said, there was not much coloring to do here but I added a little light gray shadow using a colored pencil. Because these ghosts looks so cute, I just couldn't resist adding some rosy cheeks. I cut out all five images using the coordinating dies. I try as often as possible to work with odd numbers on my cards because I feel it's just more pleasing to the eye. So two ghosts and three bats worked perfectly for me.

The background is made with just a little ink blending and a new favorite of mine, one of the Extraordinaire Stencils. It's such a helpful and inexpensive tool and so versatile. I do not have to use masking paper for a clean circle mask anymore, yay! I used Distress Ink Seedless Preserves and Chipped Sapphire fro this background.

Now, I added all the stamped pieces to my card using foam tape and stamped a crisp black greeting below my focal point. I glued the panel to my card base and my card was done.

Have a happy day,

  2. I like how you left white space around. The circle cut out and the blending in the background to look us are very cute.

  3. Cute card. I like how the ghosts look like they are popping out of the circle due to the mask.
