I started by stamping all the images I wanted to use on this card. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink, as it is waterproof, on watercolor paper. Now, I was able to use my Faber Castell Watercolor Markers without having to worry about smearing ink. This ink is my go-to for watercoloring. I got inspired by the color combo of the Happy Trails Paper Pad but ended up not using any patterned paper on my project. Still, I really like that dark blue and the red with all the nature colors.
After the coloring was done, I cut everything out using the coordinating dies. Then, I did the background. It is a quite simple background to make but I wanted it to be quite simple so the detailed stamped images wouldn't get lost. I did some easy ink blending for the sky and the grass and added a die cut grass border for a little dimension and to have something to tuck the mountains behind.
Now all that was left to do was assemble the card. I love moving around all the pieces until I feel it looks perfect. Yes, sometimes this takes up more time than planned but it still is a fun thing to do for me. I stamped a soft blue greeting on the sky and my card was done.
