I challenged myself to do some Christmas in July card making and I picked this super cute dog to be my focal point.
First, I stamped and colored the dog and the present using alcohol markers. Next, I masked them offwith some masking paper. I like the one by Gina K. It's super easy to stamp on and cut and it has just the right amount of stickiness to stay in place and really cover your image but not too strong.
I took a piece of masking tape and tore it in two, lengthwise. This way, I got a fun edge for my snowy hill. I put the tape over the dog to mask off the snow, so I could ink blend the sky. After ink blending the sky, I took the masking tape off carefully and removed the mask from the dog. I die cut my panel using a stitched rectangle die and glued it to my card base. Next, I stamped the sentiment in the same Distress Oxide ink I had used for the sky stamped and die cut some snowflakes. I adhered the snowflakes with foam tape or glue and added some sequins for a little sparkle. I added a few white gel pen details and my card was done.
I hope you got inspired to play along! Join the fun and hop over to the MFT Blog for more information and inspiration.
