Very Happy Birthday * MFT Countdown (5)

Hello and welcome to the first day of our MFT July Release Countdown. Only five more days until the release.

If you liked the Picture Perfect and Christmas Selfies stamp sets, you will probably love the newest creation by Birdie Brown called Picture Perfect Party Animals. I adore these fun images so much!

This card is made with a bit of lazy masking and a bunch of coloring, not much more. So let's dive into it. I started by stamping the picture with the elephant in the middle. Then, I masked it off using a Post-it and stamped the three other pictures the same way. As they are all square stamps, it was super easy to do some masking.

Next, I did the coloring. I used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers for this step. I started by coloring the animals. To keep the card from getting too busy, I kept using the same colors if possible. For example, the lions body, the monkeys face and the giraffes head are all colored using the same color family. I also picked only three colors for the party accessories. I feel like this gives the card color-wise a bit of calmness as there is already a lot going on on the images themselves.

To make the pictures look like photos lying on top of each other, I drew light gray lines around them to add some simple shadow. I also felt, that the white background was a bit boring, so I drew some more lines using a ruler and a light grey marker.

To add the sentiment, I stamped the greeting on heavyweight vellum and did some heat embossing with white embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment and adhered to the panel with some small staples. I liked the look of the staples so much, that I added some more to the images as a fun finishing touch.

I hope you got inspired. If you want to see more, just hop over to the MFT Blog. We have lots of inspiration and peaks at upcoming products for you.

Have a wonderful day,
Nicole
