Piece of Cake * MFT Countdown (2)

Hello and welcome to another day of our MFT July Release Countdown. Only two more days until the release. Yay!

Life is not always a piece of cake but you can always add one to your cards if you like ;-) For todays post, I made two cards in one go because they were so easy to make.

I die cut one cake from dark brown and another from light brown card stock. I simply switched the filling pieces and my cakes were done. To add a bit of dimension, I added a tiny bit of ink blending to the edges of all the die cut cake pieces. Next, I put them together using scotch tape on the back.

Now for the fun part: decorating the cakes! For the pink card, I die cut a cherry and added it to the top. I also used sequins and Stickles to give my cake some bling and shine. For the blue card, I die cut one candle and did some more decorating with sequins and Stickles (glitter glue). I let them dry and went for the backgrounds.

I cut two pieces of patterned paper to size and added ink blending on the upper edge. It gives the paper some dimension and makes it look like a tablecloth or a napkin. I glued the paper to my card base and added the cake using foam tape. Then, I stamped a fun greeting below. I added some more sequins and my cards were done.

I hope you liked todays inspiration. Patterned paper can be such a fun way to create the look of a table for your fun food and drink dies and stamps. If you'd like to see more, hop over to the MFT Blog to see what the Design Team created using upcoming products.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a happy day,
Nicole
