Fun Flowers

Hello, today I share another July release inspiration from the latest My Favorite Things release. The stamp set I used is called Fun Flowers and it's just what it is. These florals are so fun to color and to use for happy backgrounds and more.

I started by stamping the flowers on some watercolor paper. I used my Misti stamping tool for this step. If you look closely, you'll see that there is a mirrored pattern. This was done by stamping one half of the card base and then turning the paper 180 degrees and stamping the other half with the exact same arrangement of flowers. This saves time and creates a well balanced background. If the center of the card does not look perfectly spaced out, don't worry, you can cover up this part with your sentiment.

After stamping all the flowers, I colored them with Faber Castell watercolor markers. I simply added a bit of color where I wanted the stamp to be darker and spread the color using a water brush. The coloring part is my favorite, it's so relaxing. I cut the panel to size, glued it to my card base and added a little bit of gray distress ink to the edges using a blending tool, just to add a little shadow or interest.

Now that the coloring was done, all that was left to do was adding a sentiment. I die cut the hello and its shadow from white card stock and vellum. Then, I heat embossed the rest of the sentiment onto black card stock with white heat embossing powder. Here's my finished card. I hope you got inspired to create happy and fun floral backgrounds.

Have a happy day,
Nicole
