A-roar-able Friends * MFT Countdown (1)

Hello and welcome to the last day of our MFT July Release Countdown. Only one more days until the release. Hooray!

I do not make a lot of scene cards but I totally adore making them. How about you?

I started by stamping, coloring and die cutting the dinosaurs and the leaves. I wanted my card to have a soft and earthy color palette, so I skipped bold colors. I used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers for the coloring. I added some dots on the bronosaurus belly to add a little interest. I love adding dots, it's such an easy way to make your coloring a bit more special. I also added some white gel pen details to my dinos.

After all the coloring, I made the background. First, I used the Perfect Pool Water Stencil to create the dry stony ground. I masked off parts of the stencil to get this look. Next, I did the mountains. I used the Square Extraordinaire Stencil and a bit of masking tape to ink blend these super simple mountain shapes. You can see a picture of this process below. I did not  mask off the bottom part, I simply got lighter with the gray towards the ground. It's totally fine if the gray touches the stones. Then, I masked off the mountains with two Post-Its and did the sky using the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil. I absolutely love how easy it is to create a fun background using stencils.

Now that my background was done, all that was left to do was adhering the dinosaurs and the leaves with glue and foam tape. I stamped my sentiment directly on the panel, but it smeared, so I stamped it again on some white card stock and die cut it to cover my mistake. I added some sand colored sequins and my card was done.

Have a wonderful day,
