I love to get inspired by crafty friends and this card totally is. I saw a card on IG Natasha made (you can see the card here -> Craft Away With Me) She painted some a happy bunch of colorful stripes to create a beautiful background and used muted colors on her images. I did the opposite, I used soft colors for the background and bold ones for my images. But I totally borrowed her idea of the striped background.
I used my Prima Watercolor Confections Pastel Dreams watercolors and a flat brush to paint the stripes. I did them pretty even and straight but you could totally paint them more playful or wavy. As the background was drying, I stamped, colored and die cut my images. I used Faber Castell Watercolor Markers for the coloring process. I feel like the watercolor look you get with those markers goes so well with actual watercolors.
I arranged my images in a visual triangle. I feel like it is pleasing to the eye. You can also find those visual triangles in the way I glued down the clear droplets. For the sentiment, I cut one long one into three pieces to be able to align them one upon the other. (Don't worry, I can easily align them to the way they were actually planned to get a longer sentiment for another card.) So I stamped the words in black ink and my card was done.
We would love to see what you create. Join the fun and meet us on the My Favorite Things Blog for more information about how you can play along and to get inspired by the Design Team.
