to a new Wednesday Sketch Challenge inspiration. Today, I have a happy and cute summer card for you.
If you want to recreate this (or a similar) card, I find it easiest to start with die cutting the window. You can use so many fun shapes to do so. After die cutting, I glued two stripes of yellow patterned paper in place. I made it overlap the inside of my window and cut away the access paper with a craft knife. Next, I glued a piece of blue dotted paper to the back of my window. You could also add foam tape to this step but I wanted my card to be flat.
The next steps were stamping, coloring and die cutting the images. I stamped them on watercolor paper and colored them with Faber Castel Watercolor Markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. Then, I moved them around until I found a happy home on my card. :-) I try to find some kind of balance for my images so it is pleasing to the (or at least my) eye. ;-) I adhered everything with glue or foam tape.
To finish up my card, I added a heat embossed sentiment on heavyweight vellum. I love the Skinny Strips dies a lot. They go so well with so many designs. I added some clear dots for that little something-someting and my card was done.
Join the fun and meet us on the My Favorite Things Blog for more information about how you can play along and to get inspired by the Design Team.
