MFT & Friends * June Release

Hip, hip, hooray! The MFT June release is available NOW!

I made a cute little card that can be used for several occasions. How adorable is this little bear designed by Stacey Yacula?!

Splotchy Dots is the fun new background stamp I used for this card. I stamped the dots with Distress Oxide ink onto watercolor paper. Then, I took a wide wet brush and added a bit of water to my paper gently going from one side to the other, from top to bottom. This way, some of the ink on the dots mixes with the water and creates a soft blue background. This gives the dotted background a smoother look. After my panel had dried, I die cut a stitched circle from it.

Next, I stamped, colored and die cut the bear, the hooray sentiment and the flowers. I used my Watercolor Markers by Faber Castel and oh my, I had so much fun coloring. At the moment, I could color with my watercolor markers all the time. :-) I wanted my bear to have something to stand on, so I colored a scrap piece of watercolor paper with light green ink and cut it to size using one of the Grassy Hills dies and a stitched circle. All that was left to do was adding the bear with foam tape and glueing everything else in place.

Check out the MFT Blog for loads of inspiration! The Design Team and our talented MFT Friends will nock your socks off with their creativity. They always blow my mind!

Have an awesome day,
Nicole

  24. This is so sweet. I rarely think to put patterns on my background elements, but I love the way yours turned out. I think the water spritz really helps keep it toned down but still interesting.
