Hi there! Welcome to a special mid-monthly release countdown by My Favorite Things. We have a bunch of beautiful flower stamps to share with you.
Coloring this stamp was such a relaxing thing to do and flowers can be used on cards for so many occasions.
I started by stamping the flowers on a piece of watercolor paper. I like to use Versafine Onyx black ink because it's waterproof and gives a clean and crisp result. I also used a stamping tool (in my case a MISTI) because sometimes, it's a bit tricky to get evenly stamped result with large stamps like this one. I had to stamp it a second time.
And now for my favorite part, the coloring process. I used my Watercolor Markers by Faber Castell. It's so easy and relaxing to color with these markers. I simply added a bit of color where I wanted my shadows to be and blended the color out using a water brush.
I went to Pinterest to look for a color combo I liked and found this light green, yellow and coral combo. I added a little bit of yellow to the coral flowers to give them a little extra.
Because the flowers were so eye-catching, I wanted the rest of the card be super simple. I heat embossed a sentiment on a piece of heavyweight vellum and die cut a skinny banner. I cut my watercolor panel to fit on a European A6 card base and glued the panel down. I adhered the sentiment banner with two small staples.
