Birthday Party * MFT June Birthday Project

Hi there, welcome to a new Birthday Project by My Favorite Things. This month topic is Party Scene! How fun is that?! I picked one of my favorite birthday sets and made a card for an adorable little boy.

I stared by stamping all five critters on watercolor paper using a waterproof black ink (Versafine Onyx Black). I colored them with Faber Castell Watercolor Markers and added details and shadows using colored pencils. I wanted a soft and simple background, so I used the watercolor markers again to paint a light green meadow and added some hand drawn blades of grass here and there.

Then, I did some simple ink blending for the sky. And all was left to do was adding a sentiment. I stamped happy birthday on a piece of green card stock and die cut it. Next, I die cut the six letters and glued them on a die cut banner to spell the birthday boys name. Now, I die cut my panel, glued it to a card base and added both banners to my card using foam tape. I added some white gel pen highlights for a finishing touch and my card was done.

We would love to see your Party Scene using MFT products! You can find more inspiration and all the information on how to play along on the MFT Blog! So hop over and join the fun!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have an wonderful day,
