Hi there,
today is release day at My Favorite Things and we have some friends over to share tons of inspiration with the new products.
I'm featuring Hanging with my Gnomies, a super cute stamp set designed by Birdie Brown.

I started by stamping all the images on alcohol marker friendly paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I made sure to leave enough room for the sentiment. And then for my favorite part, the coloring process. I started with the lightest colors and added darker shades step by step.
When I feel, I can't reach the smallest nooks and corners anymore, I stop using the alcohol markers and switch to colored pencils. If they are super sharp, it makes it much more easier to reach those tiny areas you want to give some darker shadows (like unter the roof or between the flowers). Colored pencils are also fun to use for details like the wooden look on the door or the gnomes beard.
I wanted to keep the focus on the images, so I did not stamp the sentiment in black in but in a light blue one, like the sky. You can't see the light blue ink blending of the sky, but it's there ;-) I masked off parts of the gnome and the house and did some soft ink blending for the hills with a stencil. To finish up my card, I added a kraft paper die cut frame and some white marshmallow sequins. They actually do cover up some splatters from a marker that spilled tiny dots of ink while opening it. Sequins are one of my favorite ways to fix little boo-boos.
