Anything Goes * Paper Smooches Challenge

Hello there,

I'm very happy to be a designer for the Paper Smooches Challenge for the next three month. We have a wonderful new task for you every other week. So play along and join the fun! It's as easy as can be this week because Anything Goes. This means, just get creative with your Paper Smooches products and share your cards with us. :-)

My card features a fun set called I Heart Art. I thought it's just perfect for my start as a Challenge Design Team member. :-)

I started by stamping the easel on the upper two-thirds of my card as well as the brush and the paint below. I made sure everything was in the right space so my wooden table would not interfere with the easels legs. I used alcohol marker friendly ink and paper.

And now for the coloring. First, I colored the brush, the color tube. I know, the dimensions aren't  100% accurate but hey, it's the freedom of art, right? ;-) Next, I did the table. I simply colored the whole piece starting with a light brown in the front and getting darker in the back. Then, I added some loose stripes and dots to give it a wooden look.

I wanted the canvas to stand out a bit, so I stamped it again, cut it out (just the canvas, not the entire easel) and heat embossed the sentiment. I did stamp the words in turquoise ink and added clear embossing powder. This is a great way, if you don't have a matching embossing powder in your stash. To make the canvas blend in better, I colored the cutlines with a black marker. Then, I glued it to my panel.

I felt like something was missing. I do like clean and simple layouts a lot but the spot on the left felt a bit too empty. So I stamped a flower pot (this is actually a solid gift stamp) and some greenery. I also added the mug. It might be tea, it might be water for painting. ;-)

I hope you got inspired. Check out the Paper Smooches Blog for more inspiration and information on how to play along. You could also win a gift card to the store! How cool is that?!

Thanks a lot for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day,
Nicole
