Party Penguins * MFT Sketch Challenge 487

Hello and welcome
to a new Wednesday Sketch Challenge inspiration.

Today, I have two fun little penguins for you. If you're looking for a clean and simple and quick birthday card idea, you're in the right place :-) No coloring needed, I simply used a fun stamping technique called Ombré Stamping.

Ombré Stamping is such a cool and fun way to add interest and depth to solid stamps. Tools that (in my opinion) are super helpful for this are a stamp positioning tool (like the MISTI) and small sponge daubers (but you can also do it without them).

For those of you who aren't familiar with Ombré Stamping, here's a YouTube video by Stephanie for My Favorite Things: Ombré Stamping Video

I started by stamping the penguins in grey dye ink, added a darker gray and finished the ombré stamping with black. Next, I added the feet and the beaks with yellow and light orange. Using my small sponge daubers, I was able to add just a tiny bit of a darker shade even to the small stamps like the hat or the cupcake. To add even more party feeling, I stamped stars in different colors. After the stamping was done, I die cut my panel with a stitched rectangle die.

As for my sentiments, I stamped them with clear sticky ink on colored card stock and did some heat embossing with white embossing powder. I die cut them with skinny fishtail dies and added them to my card with foam tape.

Join the fun and meet us on the My Favorite Things Blog for more information about how you can play along and to get inspired by the Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day,
Nicole
