Schmonday Monday #16 * You Rock

Hello and welcome to a new Schmonday Monday.

Anni, Birka and I had some fun again with our happy little crafty challenge. It was Annis turn to chose a topic and a recipient. She picked Christine and challenged us to make a card to celebrate her self-employment.

Our recipient, Christine, is the owner and illustrator of Create A Smile. Over the last couple of years, Christine created a wonderful growing crafty business located in Germany. Until 2019, she did all the work for Create A Smile parallel to her regular job. At the beginning of 2020 a whole new door opened, when she started to work full time for her own crafty business. This huge step, including quitting her regular job, took a lot of courage and that's why our topic for the challenge was to tell her she rocks.
I remember perfectly how happy I was discovering Christines stamps. I was looking for German sentiments and felt so lucky when I found her fun and pretty creations. I also loved to play along the fun challenges and today I'm proud to be part of her wonderful Design Team since July 2016.

Now for the card making part. My sentiment says You Rock, I stamped it in German but you can get this stamp set in English as well.

First, I stamped the large word on alcohol marker friendly paper and covered it with masking fluid. I let it dry over night to be sure it's completely dry. Then, I did some stamping with the wonderful Floral Decorations. I used dye inks from Lawn Fawn and just worked my way around the large letters. I used three shades of green ink to give my image a bit more interest.

Next, I removed the masking fluid carefully and added details to my stamped greenery using colored pencils. I colored the letters with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and added some sand or stones to give my focal point some ground to stand on. To complete my sentiment, I stamped the small word on some heavyweight vellum and did some heat embossing with white embossing powder. I cut a little banner shape with my scissors and added it to my panel using some mini staples. To complete my card, I added three chipboard stars. I love the wooden look they have and I know Christine likes them too.

I hope you got inspired to do some masking or using your large sentiment stamps. Who's the person your proud of today for being brave and starting something new this year?

I'm sure you're curious what Anni and Birka created for Christine. You're only a click away ;-)
