MFT & Friends * February Release

Hello and welcome to this month MFT & Friends! We have some super talented friends over at the blog sharing their awesome creations using the new release that is available NOW!

I'm waiting for spring but it's still gray and foggy where I live. But with this beautiful stamp set, I can have spring in my craft room. It's so fun to color!

I love coloring flower stamps. There's something so relaxing about it and you can make cards for so many occasions. I stamped the hydrangeas with Versafine Onyx Black ink (this is water-resistant) on watercolor paper and colored my image with watercolor markers by Faber Castell. I started by adding color to the center of the petals and added water with a water brush to create an ombré look on every petal.

I wanted to add more interest to my flowers, so I added a bit of purple to the blue flower and a bit of purple to the dark blue one, as well as some dark blue to the purple one. In retrospect, I would have picked another color than the dark blue. It looked good on my color swatch but I'm not so sure if I really like here.

To create more shadows to the petals, I used (very sharp) colored pencils. I have way more control with color pencils than with a brush in these tiny areas. And last, I added some light gray shadows to the flowers and stamped a small black sentiment to complete my card.

I hope you're joining us on the MFT Blog for a happy and fun celebration. We have some wonderful and talented friends over and so much inspiration you don't want to miss!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Have a colorful day,
Nicole
