Wheelie Amazing * Sweet Peek Week Day 2

Hi there and welcome to the second day of SugarPea Designs release week. We'll share sneak peeks everyday until release day on January 24th. :-)

For todays card I went a bit out of my comfort zone and did no coloring at all. This wonderful stamp set makes it so easy to add color to your bike and its accessories with inks. Another thing I enjoy is picking color combos that I don't usually use on my cards.

First, I pickt a color combo. I got inspired by SugarPeas Sugar & Spice paper pad. So I chose a dark blue, a turquoise, a light gray and a pink pigment ink that matched the papers.

Next, I stamped the bike and the accessories, let the pigment inks dry a bit and die cut everything with the coordinating dies. I cut one of the patterned papers into pieces to create the layout I was going for. I glued the paper down and assembled the bike. This was super easy. I added foam tape on the back of every piece and finished it up with silver sequins in the middle of the wheels.

Now, there were only a few little things to add. I stamped the greeting in the same ink I stamped the bike. Then, I stamped grey tiny butterflies (from the Lator Gator set) and added some dark blue twine to finish up my card.

  22. I really love the layout of your card, it's amazing how something as simple as changing a background layer to a slant instead of straight edge can add so much to a card! (I know that doesn't make much sense, but I hope you get what I mean!)
