Todays card features a wonderful new cover-up die called Lots of Hearts. It's such a pretty die and you have to check out what my teamies made using it. Their cards blow me away.
I started with a piece of watercolor paper that was a bit bigger than the cover-up die. I taped it down to my work surface and painted it with three shades of pink and blush watercolors. I did not have a special pattern in mind, I simply wanted some lighter and darker areas to make the background more interesting. After letting it dry, I spritzed some paint on top to create more texture and then let it dry again.
Next, I did some die cutting. The cover-up die totally transformed the rather simple piece of watercolor painting into a fun and beautiful background. I glued the heart backdrop to a white piece of card stock and did some more die cutting. I die cut the word love from some gold glitter card stock and completed my sentiment with a gold heat embossed sentiment strip.
Do you use cover-up dies? I have a few and never expected to enjoy them so much.
