Schmonday Monday #15 * Game of Thrones

Yay! It's Schmonday Monday again!

We took a bit of a break but now Anika, Birka and I are back with our fun little crafty challenge. It was Birkas turn to pick a topic and a recipient we were going to surprise with some happy mail.

Birka chose lovely Biggi from the Instagram channel @Mimizitrone to be our surprise recipient. I have never met her in person but I adore her creations a lot. Especially her use of patterned paper is awesome and very inspiring to me. As Birka knows Biggi better than I do, she knew how much she enjoyed the Game of Thrones series. That's how Birka came up with the topic for this months Schmonday Challenge.

I had to digg deep to find a dragon stamp for my card. I found one in a retired MFT stamp set and combined it with an alphabet stamp set (also retired) by the same company. I wanted to create a background that looked like old paper. Distress Ink Antique linen was just the perfect color for stamping and ink blending my background panel.

I stamped a famous quote from the series in black and expanded it with the colorful word crafty. In the series, they drink a lot of wine but I went for some coffee or tea (as I don't know what Biggi prefers) and a happy and colorful mug. The mug is die cut from watercolor paper and colored in with watercolors.

What's your favorite series? Have you ever made a card based on a TV Show or a movie?

I'm sure you're curious what Anni and Birka made and I have good news, you're only a click away ;-)
