Namaste * MFT December Vault (2)

Hi there and welcome to our second day of the December Vault release by My Favorite Things.

I made this clean and simple card for my sister to send to her yoga teacher. How adorable is this little lady from the Serenity stamp (and die) set?!

When I saw this stamp, I knew I wanted the card to be super clean and (mostly) simple. While making clean and simple cards, I always try to give them one main focus that (hopefully) prevents them on being boring. In this case, that would be the coloring.

I went for the no-line coloring technique and really took the time to color every detail carefully. I started with alcohol markers and added deeper shades and details (like the hair) with colored pencils.

To color the floor, I fist created a little mask (just for the feet and the legs) from Post-It tape. I masked off her legs and feet and the wall behind her and did some ink blending that fades out to white. It really helps to start super light and add color slowly as you go.

I like my sentiment to blend in well, so sometimes I spend (a bit too) much time to find the perfect spot. Yes, it's a bit crazy but I kind of enjoy this too. I stamped the word in crisp black ink and that's my card for today.

I hope you got inspired. There's more inspiration waiting for you on the MFT Blog. Check it out and have a look at the other new fun products.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a relaxing day,
