Yay! It's that time of the month again where all the new MFT goodies are available!
I'm sharing a card using the adorable new stamp set by Stacey Yacula. I love fall themed stamps a lot and this cute little squirrel makes me happy.
I started by stamping the pile of leaves with different Distress Inks. I inked up parts of the stamp with yellow, orange, red or green and some with a light brown. You can see this in my next picture. After I did the stamping, I came in with a wet watercolor brush and started to color the leaves by activating the Distress Inks with the water on my brush. This does not require a lot of water. I used a quite small brush and made sure, I had just enough water on it to get the colors moving.
You could leave the image like this but I wanted to add more depth to the pile of leaves. So I smooshed some Distress Inks on my glass mat and picked them up with my small brush to paint a second layer on my leaves and on the bottom where I wanted the shadows to be. I let everything dry and moved on to the squirrel.
I stamped the squirrel in a light brown ink and colored him with Distress Inks that I used just like regular watercolors. After my little cute was dry, I did some very soft inkblending for my background using Distress Oxide Ink. I wanted my sentiment to be super soft and not disurbing my scene, so I stamped it in the same blue Oxide Ink. I used a circle die to help me get my sentiment to this bow shape. You can easily bend your long skinny sentiments like this without damaging them.
I hope you got inspired and are curious what the others made. The Design Team and our MFT Friends have some wonderful projects waiting for you on the MFT Blog.
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a happy day,
Nicole
