Christmas Car * Sweet Peek Week * Day 3

Hello and welcome to another Sweet Peek Week day where we're having a look at the upcoming SugarPea Designs September release.

Today, I have a more masculine card for you with a fun Christmas Car die and a wonderful sentiment from Oh So Jolly Sentiments.

I started with my background by stamping the Striped Background on some watercolor paper. I did a technique where you ink up your stamp and spritz it with water before you press it down onto you (watercolor) paper. I like the kind of artsy look it creates. Next, I did some die cutting. I cut out the car and the tree from watercolor paper and colored them with watercolors.

I glued all the pieces from the car in place and added a bit of twine to the tree before I adhered him to my background with foam tape. I stamped my sentiment with a crisp black ink and added three snowflakes to complete my card.

  8. Really like the VW Bug! When you watercolored it, it looks like it has splotches on it of old snow and salt; it has been thru the winter for sure. Makes it look authentic! That is a good idea of yours and I hope I can remember it to try it for myself on the striped part and the spritzing! A fabulous card!

  9. I have been commenting on your blog all week and having some trouble but I really like your card today; I think when you watercolored it, it gave it that something something, and it makes it look like the VW has been winterized with the snow and salt it keeps battling as it drives across town! A great card and I hope this comment gets to be posted!
