Yay! It's release day at My Favorite Things and I'm curious what your favorite thing from this release is. One new goodie I like a lot is the Squirrel stamp set. Aren't they just adorable?!
This is how I did it. I die cut the grass die from watercolor paper and did some ink smooshing with Distress Oxide Inks. I simply smooshed some ink on my glass mat, spritzed it with water and dipped the die cut piece in it. I used two shades of green, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. I repeated the smooshing until I liked the result.
While the grass piece was drying, I did some ink blending using Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide and the mini cloud stencil. Then, I glued the grass on the sky panel.
For my squirrels, I went for the no-line coloring technique. I stamped them in Distress Ink Antique Linen and colored them with watercolors. To add more interest to their fur, I went in with some colored pencils.
I die cut the squirrels and the mushrooms and adhered them with some foam tape. The super cool grass die called Tucked-in Turf makes it so easy to make your critters look like they are sitting in the grass. I stamped my sentiment in the same Oxide Ink I used on the sky to match my scene perfectly.
We're super excited for this release and to have some MFT Friends over at the blog. Join us on the blog for inspiration and a look at all the new goodies.
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day,
Nicole
