hello monkey * MFT Sketch Challenge 449

Hello and welcome
to a new Wednesday Sketch Challenge inspiration.

Sometimes I like to stick to the sketch as much as I can and sometimes I just follow it loosely, like I did here. I turned it and moved the stripe, replacing it with the palm tree.

I love patterned paper but I'm having a hard time using it, so I challenged myself putting some on a card today. I stamped my monkey and colored him with watercolors. Then, I cut him out with the matching dies.

After that, I did a bunch of die cutting. I cut the sea and the leaves from some Watercolor Wash paper, two shells from glitter paper, the stem from brown paper and the background from dotted pattern paper and white card stock. I added a bit of ink blending to the leaves and the sea to create a more dimensional look.

I did some diecut inlay with the background pieces and glued the everything in place. I used foam tape to add a bit dimension to the leaves, the shells and the monkey. For my sentiment, I simply did some white heatembossing on black card stock.

That's all for today. I hope you got inspired to use more of your patterned paper or just to play along with us.

Join the fun and meet us at the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge for more information about how you can play along.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a colorful day,
Nicole
