Welcome to a new Wednesday Sketch Challenge by My Favorite Things. Today, I have a little scene with two adorable owls for you.
First, I masked off the area I wanted to do some ink blending on. I used two stencils (clouds/grass) to create my background strip. Then, I die cut the birch trees from white paper and glued some dark gray paper stripes behind them. I added the trees to my background using foam tape. My owls were stamped with a sticky black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. After stamping them, I added color using my Zigs. I let them dry and fussy cut them afterwards. I felt like my scene needed a bit more color and interest, so I added more grass and some leaves on the trees. To complete the card and the look of the sketch, I stamped my sentiment in three rows.
Now it's your turn! :-) I can't wait to see what you come up with! Hop over to the MFT Blog for more inspiration and all the informations on how to play along.
Thanks a lot for stopping by!
Have a beautiful day,
