As fun and exciting it is to get two dies for free, it's also quite a challenge to come up with ideas for projects. But, as some of you know, I like a good crafty challenge a lot :-)
The two dies I got have a nordic folklore theme. One is a dala horse and the other one is a set full of flowers called "nordic blooms". First, I thought the flower were easier to use but in the end, my favorite card is this first one with the horse.
I tried all kinds of styles. This first card was actually the last one I made. I looked up nordic folklore flowers and found beautiful bold colored flower patterns. This card is inspired by these patterns. I used dye inks and solid flower stamps to create this card.
For my second card I went for a soft pastel look. I used Distress Inks and created a little scene where the horse stands in a field of flowers. I didn't find a sentiment I liked, so I let this one as it is.
I love rainbow colors and these flowers are so versatile, they went very well with the look I was going for. I die cut them from some watercolor paper and colored them with my Prima Watercolors. This thank you card turned out very clean and simple, but I like the pop of colors.
My last card is also made with watercolors but in a more "traditional" color scheme. The sentiment simply says "how are you?". I think flowers and a sentiment like that go very well together.
I hope you got inspired to use your dies for many different looks. And if you like that Nordic Folk look these dies have, check out the Spellbinders collection. There are even more pretty dies like these.
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day,
